Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. For his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in his law doth he meditate day and night. -Psalm 1:1,2
10.26.2007 New blog name... And more!
9:40 pm
Yes you might have noticed the new name.
Anyway that's sort of besides the point.
My family has returned! Man I have really been taking them for granted. What a relief they arrived safely, thank God!
Reached home late after chamber rehearsal.
Mr Sze taught Benlee, Theo, and me (along with Jonshin) conducting basics. For now. He's supposed to teach us more. Was pretty fun. We conducted like the first 3 pages of Yiyang (and Matthew's) Vivaldi Double Cello Concerto. Along with Yeojie, Lihkhuang, Enzhao, Samuel Lim (ok that was unneeded) and the like (which means about another 20 people. Including bases).
So, we're supposed to get batons. I'm probably going out with Theo (no, not on a date) to a music store for fun. (and to buy some interesting stuff too, one of which would probably be a baton - a cheap 11dollar one)
Yes. And, chamber ended at 5.56 today. Late. Supposed to be 5.15. And I had to play the Mozart Trio with Shangxuan and Zenn for Mr Sze during lunchtime. He bought us lunch.
So, after that, I went to get new spectacles. No, I am not wearing them yet as they haven't been made. But yes I got them (at Shaw Centre). It's nice. Won't tell you how it looks, find out for yourself!
Then I reached home at 7.30. And showered and had dinner.
Oh yes, I did not tell you all about the RIMEP concert. Oh well, was pretty nice, considering 3 people played Beethoven (including me) and one piano string snapped (yes it was Bartok's Allegro Barbaro that did the trick, and of course Shawn Neo's brilliant arm and finger strength).
Theophilus started with Bach, which was described as having "not enough showmanship". But who cares, I liked it (:
Then I played Beethoven Sonata in E minor. (Yes I wore a purple and black on white chequed shirt with a black tie.) That was followed by Joseph Tan's short Debbusy piece.
Some other items included JonShin's showstopper (bravo!), Shawn's stringbreaker (must have been the iron you have been pumping), and Thomas Ang's lark piece thing by Balakirev. Oh, and the worst mistake in history - ABBA's "Thank You for the Music" sang by the worst choir on earth (which happens to be the RIMEP students' combined choir).
Haha. And congrats to Theo for winning the "Best MEP Student" Award. Or something like that.
Anyway, that's about what happened to me recently.
Any other stuff that I come across will stand a chance to be published here on Philosophical Problematic Me.
Oh: Publicity -
