Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. For his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in his law doth he meditate day and night. -Psalm 1:1,2

sorry it's been so long since i last posted. basically i was banned then i went to hongkong, then now, im here wishing everyone a great new year ahead! anyways... about the hongkong trip. so. it was a short 4+ days thing, with the whole of my father's family going, because it's my cousin's wedding. and that's - generation 1:gongong generation 2:da gu, 3 gu, 5 gu, 5 gu zhang, 6 gu, my dad, my mum generation 3:chun yi, emerald, li yi, jun yi, jun de, marc, me. there. 2 gu's in honkong itself, with 2 gu zhang, oldest sister (i forgot the name, sorry...) older brother (ming jie), younger brother(ming da (now married)). 4 gu's in new zealand. so, we did some shopping, (i got 2 yamamoto long-sleeved shirts, only s$28 for both! and also a black esprit one which im sharing with my dad)... haha. theme parks, im quite the daredevil and rideaholic, so i love all the stuff like that. (my cousin emerald is my gd biddy and goes with me to all the rides, jun yi and jun de were all very scared so only the tamer rides they took. li yi was scared but she dared to take the rides, then she loved them) - disneyland. *good ride(s): space mountain. not as good as the one in jap. but gd enough, went 4 times with emerald and li yi and marc and jun de and so on. basically generation 2 wasnt so game. haha. *bad rides: everything else, i suppose the jungle river cruise was not bad, but yeah, the rest was horrible. and the queing time made it worse. anyways, if you want to go to hongkong, try the ocean park, it's better. so now, ocean park. *good rides: 1. the abyss. for all the daredevils on earth. super high freefall which makes you lift in your seats. you go up there like maybe 30m in the air. then you wait for 10 seconds (i counted) then they drop you freefall and you bounce up again and fall again this continues 3 times, then you land. i tell you, it was so fun, only marcm emerald and i went. super gd. 2. mine train. very fun rollercoaster, some freefalls and very fast, so you really feel the drop, good stuff. *bad rides: the dragon was a waste. looks scary but feels like you're on a lousy kiddish ride. you sit on the train then you go round loops and stuff. looks like yiou're gpoing very fast, but actually very slow. want a scary time? don't take this. but this ride is gd if you want to feel safe.hehe. the eagle is another one which wasnt so good. and the raging river is the best thing if you wanna get wet. the freefall into the water is quite fun i suppose. tip: crouch down. it was 4 seater, but my carriage only 3 of us. emerald in front, im next, then jun de at back. so we slid down the freefall ramp and emerald crouched down, i crouched down, jun de forgot. he was damp, we were not. that's about it for the rides. now about the airplane trips. i was usually ok on airplanes, but this time i was a wreck. vomited once on the way there, 4 times on the way back. so tired and sick. plus i was sick before the trip, with sliught fever and food poisoning. "stupid turkey!" yeah. on the way back i watched this movie called "for horowitz". brilliant show. cant tell you much or it'll spoil the show. catch it on cathay pacific. next time. yeah. ok tired now. happy new year once again, off to school in 2 days, im cossing my fingers now, coz im checking the ri website for the clas arrangements, hops that i wont be in ct's class. be back in a moment.
layout by: hilary header by: sealedcards kwek mu yi chang jonshin charmaine mags huixian nadia and one best friend who does not want his blog to be revealed. hrm. i wonder who. One of my favourite piano concertos! And my favourite Russian pianist. Can't find stuff like that all the time. Title: Concerto No.2 -- Composer: Rachmaninov -- Pianist: Evgeny Kissin -- Orchestra: BBC Symphony - Sir Andrew Davis All four movements of Schumann's Piano Quintet in Eb. Pure composing genius, I say. And Maisky's playing! Title: Quintet for Piano and Strings in E flat Major -- Composer: Schumann -- Performers: Violins: Renaud Capuçon, Sayaka Shoji; Viola: Lars Anders Tomter; Cello: Mischa Maisky Another one of my favourite piano concertos! And Yundi Li does it pretty well. Title: Piano Concerto No. 1 -- Composer: Chopin -- Pianist: Yundi Li My favourite violin concerto with David Oistrakh - I think he plays this piece better than Heifetz although Heifetz is superior technically. It's more soulful. Actually my fav. is the Hilary Hahn recording but they didnt give the HTML code. So sad. Title: Violin Concerto -- Composer: Sibelius -- Violinist: David Oistrakh The best cellist ever plays one of the nicest cello works ever written. Brilliant! Title: Cello Concerto in E Minor -- Composer: Elgar -- Cellist: Jacqueline Du Pre The Polonaise-Fantasie by Chopin. I'm playing this. Apparently I am suited to play this because of my style. That's what my teacher said. Go figure. It's beautiful anyway. Title: Polonaise-Fantasie -- Composer: Chopin -- Pianist: Spencer Myers I'm playing this too. Very Schumann-ish, which is nice. But still Chopin. Title: Ballade No. 2 -- Composer: Chopin -- Pianist: Zimerman One of my favourite violin pieces by the best violinist ever! Title: Introduction and Rondo Capriccio -- Composer: Saint-Saens -- Violinist: Jascha Heifetz |
